Crude production from Canada's oil sands is poised to almost triple by 2030, despite environmental worries and competition from US production, according to a forecast of a Calgary-based industry group. The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (Capp) predicts that output from the oil sands would reach 5.2 million barrels per day by 2030, up from 1.8 million b/d last year.
