Crude Prices Little Changed After Mixed US Inventory Data

Oil futures closed narrowly mixed after a choppy session on Wednesday as official data showed US petroleum inventories grew slightly less than expected last week. Data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed that US crude inventories rose 2.6 million bbl to 371.7 million bbl in the week ended Feb. 1 as the refinery utilization rate dropped 0.8 percentage points to 84.2%. Inventories at the Cushing, Oklahoma, storage hub -- pricing point for the Nymex WTI crude futures contract -- fell by 300,000 bbl to 51.4 million bbl.
