London-listed unconventional explorer IGas Energy said it has encountered gas in a shale formation while drilling a coalbed- methane well (CBM) in Cheshire in the UK. Previous geological surveys have indicated that the Ince Marshes play — home to the Bowland Shale — could hold gas in-place re- serves of up to 4.6 Tcf.
