Oil field services giant Weatherford International said its Principal Accounting Officer Charles Geer will leave the company effective March 18. The decision follows Weatherford’s disclosure of accounting errors in calculating its taxes during the 2007-10 period that would result in a $500 million downward adjustment in the company’s reported earnings over the same time period (OD Mar.3,p1).
