US Storm Season Lived Up to Expectations

The 2011 Atlantic hurricane season was forecasted to be an active one-and it lived up to expectations. Even with the season officially ending on Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center said it was keeping a close watch on an area of disturbed weather about 500 miles to the north-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands that had a 20% chance of becoming a subtropical cyclone within 48 hours.
