Crude futures rose Thursday as the dollar continued its week-long fall against the euro. The release of better-than-expected corporate earnings also indicated that the US economic recovery remains on track, which could boost demand for oil from the world’s largest consumer. A weakening of the dollar against other major currencies makes dollar-denominated crude less expensive for non-US buyers and can boost demand.
