Lukoil Faces Delays in Iraq

Russia’s Lukoil is likely to face further problems with local inhabitants as it tries to push ahead with development of the supergiant West Qurna-2 oil field in southern Iraq. Sheikh Kahtan al-Imara, the powerful leader of the Al-Imara tribe, told Oil Daily that Lukoil will not be able to drill on his patch until Baghdad compensates his people for their land.
