Gastar Gives Marcellus Update

Gastar Exploration said it continues to make progress in its operations in the Marcellus Shale gas play and is finalizing plans for another active drilling program in the region in 2012 consisting of at least 24 operated horizontal wells in Marshall County, Virginia. The Houston-based company said its first two productive Marcellus shale wells — the Wengerd 1H and Wengerd 7H — have averaged a combined gross sales rate of 7.3 MMcf/ d of natural gas, 448 b/d of natural gas liquids (NGLs) and 255 b/d of condensate over the most recent 14 days of unrestricted production. Gastar owns a 44.5% working interest in the Wengerd wells, which the company drilled earlier this year (OD Jul.29’11).
