Gold output in Chukotka at 13.2 tonnes in Jan-Oct, silver production at 157.5 tonnes

Gold production enterprises in Chukotka produced 13.2 tonnes of hardrock gold and 157.5 tonnes of silver in January-October 2012, the region's information policy department said on November 9. Precious metals production is now underway in Chukotka at two fields: Kupol and Karalveyem. The bulk of production in the period, 12 tonnes of gold and 157.4 tonnes of silver, was received from the Kupol mine (belonging to CJSC Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, a subsidiary of Canada's Kinross Gold).
