Greeks protest against Eldorado gold project

THOUSANDS of protestors took to the streets of Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city, demanding the government revoke approval for a planned gold mine awarded to Canadian company Eldorado Gold Corp. The protests began after five people were arrested in connection with an attack on the site in February, when two security officers were assaulted and temporary offices and mobile equipment set on fire.
