A new rare-earth mineral district

Namibia Rare Earths (TSX:NRE) is exploring the 200km~2 Lofdal Carbonatite Complex in northwestern Namibia, Over 4,000 rock samples have been analysed from outcrops which confirm that Lofdal represents a new rare-earth mineral district. While most rare-earth deposits around the world occur in historic mineral districts that have been explored for decades, exploration at Lofdal is in its infancy. The potential for discoveries is therefore high. Of particular importance is the potential for the discovery of rare-earth deposits that are exceptionally enriched in the more valuable"heavies".
