CANDENTE Resource Corp's Canariaco Norte porphyry copper-gold-silver project in northern Peru could support a project capable of processing 75,000t/d, according to a scoping study produced by consultants SRK and Samuel Engineering. Speaking this week, Sean Waller, Can-dente's development vice-president, said the study was engineered to a greater level of detail than most preliminary economic assessments (or scoping studies). The study's mine design included open-pit, truck-and-shovel mining to produce 75,000t/d of ore at a stripping ratio of 0.54:1 over the 19-year life. Mr Waller said the study's metallurgical testing indicated 90 percent copper recovery, 55 percent for gold and 65 percent for silver, using industry-standard crushing, grinding and flotation recovery techniques.
