Shandong Shiheng to launch special steel output

China's Shandong Shiheng Special Steel Co is to invest over 300m yuan (36.2 million US dollars) in a 500,000 tpy wine rod mill for its works in Shandong province. Following the completion of the project by the middle of 2004, Shiheng will expand finished steel output to around 1m tpy and formally begin special steel production. The wine rod and sections producer has awarded the contact for the new mill to US plant supplier Morgan Construction Co.
