LONDON-The major European mills benefiting from last week's US Section 201 tariff exemptions are hopeful the move can ease the tensions in the trade war that has threatened to engulf the steel business. Of the 136,000 tonnes excluded by the Bush administration in the first tranche of product exclusions, some 133,000 tonnes are accounted for by three of Europe's largest steel producers: Arcelor, Corus and ThyssenKrupp.
