A new concept in fresh meat slicing and portioning from German based manufacturer TVI has been supplied by Interfood Technology for the Malton plant of international food group VION. The Malton facility near Scarborough, created in 1931 by Yorkshire farmers, was bought by VION in 2008 and operates as a dedicated pork processing plant supplying several of the major multiples. Malton is a major UK pig processing operation, with full curing capabilities also available on the site. Carl Meade, Operations Manager at Malton, recognised that slicing was a missing element and approached Intertood to discuss the new fresh meat slicing developments being introduced by TVI at their manufacturing facility in Irschenberg.
