FrieslandCampina Kievit is launching a 'sweet creamer' concept for application in sweetened instant beverages such as 3-in-l coffee, milk tea, cappuccino and cocoa drinks. The incorporation of sugar in the creamer as a substitute for glucose syrup is revolutionary. The sweet creamer can replace more than 40 per cent of the sugar in sweetened instant drinks. This not only yields a potential cost saving for customers of more than 30 cents per kg of end product. Because this creamer uses fewer raw materials and there are savings on packaging materials, transport, water and energy consumption, the CO~2 footprint can also be reduced by 12 per cent.
