It is not all lecture theatres and lab work for one group of Coventry students, as they were invited to spice up their studies with a visit to learn how curry sauces are made on a commercial scale at Tipton's Panesar Foods. Undergraduates studying for a Dietetics BSc (Hons) degree at Coventry University learn all about nutrition and related subject areas such as biochemistry and food science, human physiology, clinical medicine, behavioural science to help promote diet and lifestyle changes, and diet therapy to treat and prevent disease. An essential part of the course to become a registered dietitian involves field work; allowing the students to see the theory put into practice.
