Two varieties of genetically engineered corn are set to be approved for import into the European Union for use in food and feed, after a "no opinion" vote, June 10, by member-states in the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health, EU Food Law reports. There was no qualified majority for or against approval of the joint Monsanto/Dow AgroSciences' products MON89034xl507xMON88017x59122, sold as SmartStax, and MON89034xl507xNK603, known as Power Core.
