At least six samples have tested positive for the outbreak strain of Salmonella enteritidis at Wright County Egg in Iowa, two of which were found in feed, raising new questions for the FDA.More than 500 million eggs from Wright County Egg, in Gait, Iowa, and Hillandale Farms of Iowa Inc., in New Hampton, were recalled this month after they were linked to as many as 1,400 salmonellosis cases across the country (see FCN Aug. 23, Page 1). New information caused Wright County Egg on Wednesday to add a California-distributed brand label, Cardenas Market, to its Aug. 13 recall list of eggs that might be contaminated with Salmonella.
