Danish Parliament to renegotiate biotech coexistence law

The Danish Parliament plans to reconsider the nation's biotech coexistence law, which sets the framework for growing transgenic crop varieties. All parliamentary parties on May 27 agreed that Denmark would work through the European Union for national decisions regarding the cultivation of genetically engineered crops (see preceding story). Parliament plans to launch an expert consultation to help clarify questions about the cultivation of biotech crops in Denmark.
