Thailand: MOP imports down 12% in H1

Thailand imported 56,208 mt MOP in June, leaving arrivals in the first half of the year down 12% year on year at 334,958 mt MOP, according to IHS Global Trade Atlas data. The January-June decrease was reported despite June imports increasing 34% from the same month in 2015. In June, Thailand received 26,082 mt MOP from Canpotex, down from 31,355 mt MOP previously, although arrivals from BPC shot up to 22,833 mt from 5,665 mt. Earlier this month, the Belarusian company sold 2 x 25,000 mt gMOP cargoes for July shipment to Thailand at $280/mt CFR.
