Brazil remains in $40s/mt CFR on latest deals

Global sulphuric acid spot markets were relatively quiet, and the price indications that were apparent suggested stable levels across regions week on week. Yara and Mosaic’s latest tenders, for 18,000 mt and 12,000 mt respectively, were reportedly awarded in the low $40s/mt CFR, in line with current assessments. European spot prices for sulphuric acid exports were again assessed unchanged at $0-10/mt FOB Northwest Europe, though the upper end of the range is likely to be less representative. Lower freights are helping sellers’ netbacks, and upcoming turnarounds in Europe are expected to be supportive of prices.
