Market participants continue to peg AS prices in Brazil in the $130-135/mt CFR range although business is limited. Industry attention was instead this week focused on the Brazilian government’s 2016/17 Harvest plan. An 8% increase in the level of funding was announced (less than the rate of inflation) but loans to farmers for the various programs will attract much higher interest rates than last year.
