JPMC and CMMC to build Aqaba fertilizer factory

The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company and China's Chongqing Minmetal and Machinery Import and Export Co (CQMM) are moving forward with plans to establish a JOD 1 billion ($1.4 billion) fertilizer plant in Aqaba, The Jordan Times reports. Both parties signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the Aqaba plant in September 2014, with the new complex expected to take raw material from JPMC and the Arab Potash Company, which also operates in Jordan.
