Curtailed production and renewed demand for UAN

UAN market activity was limited this week as applications have been delayed in Europe as a result of wet weather. Reduced production in Europe and Egypt however should help to drive prices upwards in the short term. Urea prices continue their upward momentum, and UAN should follow suit in the coming weeks. Last week's report that the CF plant at Verdigris has lost one ammonia unit for repairs does not mean UAN output has been cut by 50%. UAN capacity at Verdigris can run at up to 80% supported by just one ammonia train. This does not account for outstanding merchant ammonia sales.
