US urea imports during May of 2016 topped the year earlier arrivals at 719,001 st (652,273 mt) versus 544,287 st (493,774 mt), keeping arrivals during the first 11 months of the US fertilizer year moderately ahead of the prior year period, according to the latest data from the US Department of Commerce. The primary supplier of urea to the US during May 2016 was Canada at 142,215 st, up from 105,450 st during May 2015. The second largest supplier to the US in May of this year was Qatar at 106,929 st, however its volume for the month was down from 160,828 st compared to one year earlier.
