Anglo American to sell Brazil phos unit to China Moly

Anglo American reached an agreement to sell its phosphates and niobium business in Brazil to China Molybdenum Co. for a total cash payment of $1.5 billion, the company said on April 28. The deal is the largest by Anglo American since it announced plans to sell at least $4 billion of assets to reinforce its balance sheet. It was reported to have hired Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to sell its phosphate and niobium assets.
