SQM’s net income falls, MOP/SOP sales volumes increase

Chilean fertilizer and industrial chemical maker Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile (SQM) reported a 37% year-on-year fall in net income to $296.4 million in the full year 2014. Revenues fell to $2.01 billion from $2.20 billion during the period due to lower prices for nitrates, lithium and especially iodine, which fell 20% in 2014, according to the company.
