Deficient rainfall in the main potash consuming regions of India is likely to hamper demand. The five major consuming states of potash, including Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, are all suffering from deficient rainfall with the exception of West Bengal. This is likely to affect potash consumption in the coming months as those states make up 60-65% of demand.
