Granular urea in the Midwest and in the Great Lakes states remained in strong demand, and even became more expensive in areas now out of reach to new barge offers for the season. While granular urea for winter wheat is likely accounted for, distributors need to maintain some carryover as spring demand usually emerges before barges can reach much of the upper Mississippi River in the spring.
