Chinese NP imports reach record heights in 2014

Brazil imported just over 1.5 million mt NPs in 2014, representing a 24% increase on 2013. Whereas the volume imported from the US remained realtively stable, the volume from China soared to 824,000 mt, up from 453,000 mt in 2013 and reflecting the substantial volumes of 11-44-0 booked for shipment from May onwards. NPK imports also rose but by a lesser extent, increasing from just below 500,000 mt in 2012 and 2013 to 630,000 mt in 2014.
