Arab Potash Co. profit drops 56 percent

Amman—Arab Potash Co. (APC) reported a56 percent drop in nine-month net profit after tax, to JD53.2 million ($74.8 million) on revenues of JD262 million, down from the year-ago JD118millionandJD386million,respectively. The company attributed the profits downturn mainly to a 32 percent drop in sales revenues, as well as a decrease in production volumes amid a two-month maintenance shutdown at its 120,000 mt/ month hot leach plant.
