BioStar to build energy/fert facility in Missouri

Sedalia, Mo.—BioStar Systems, a waste-to-energy company headquartered in Leawood, Kan., announced on May 28 that Missouri's Pettis County will be the home of a new $60 mil lion biogas production facility that will convert chicken manure from nearby poultry producer Rose Acres Farms into biogas and organic fertilizer. The plant's construction, which is slated to begin this fall, will create 80-100 jobs, with 23 permanent jobs added when the plant begins production in late 2015.
