The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has shed new light on its operations by reporting its first set of annual results in a decade, which included losses of NGN 267 billion (USD 1.34 billion) last year. Looking at the gas side, NNPC reportedly produced 2.85 Tcf last year, of which almost 45% was subsequently used for ‘non-commercial’ purposes such as reinjection into oil wells (see table below).
