Technip launches restructuring plan

Technip says it "anticipates an even more challenging environment in oil and gas" and has launched a restructuring plan, as well as accelerating its cost reduction efforts "to reinforce the group through and beyond the downturn"-including the loss of some 6,000 jobs. The new strategy has total targeted savings of around US $912.2m (?830m), of which $769.4m (?700m) will be delivered in 2016 and the balance in 2017, Technip said. The restructuring plan "will involve a reduction of the global workforce by approximately 6,000 and further optimisation of its asset base", Technip added.
