Dong sees profit rise

Denmark’s Dong Energy has posted Q1 2016 net profit of US $790.0m (DKK 5.2 Bn), up some $531.7mm (DKK 3.5 Bn) on Q1 2015 – thanks pri- marily to the higher EBITDA and lower deprecia- tion and net financial expenses. EBITDA was $1.23 Bn (DKK 8.1 Bn) in Q1 2016 compared with $911.5m (DKK 6.0 Bn) in Q1 2015, corresponding to an increase of 35% on both reported and underlying basis. The underlying improvement was driven by a 53% increase in Wind Power, partly offset by lower gas, oil and power prices
