Norway expects 15 field plans

Operators are expected to table up to 15 development plans for oil and gas fields offshore Norway in 2017-2018, according to the head of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD). Oil companies around the world have been cutting investments, jobs and development projects as the battle to adjust to the low oil price environment that has been in place since mid-2014. In Norway, this has been shown by the fact that this year just three development plans have been submitted to authorities for approval. However, this situation may pick up next year, said Bente Nyland, head of the NPD.
