Brent legs to stay in place

Shell plans to leave the huge legs of its Brent field platforms in the UK North Sea after its multi- billion dollar decommissioning campaign on the field complex. Duncan Manning, Shell’s business opportunity manager on Brent Decommissioning, said remov- ing the 300,000 tonne legs would be “riddled with safety risks” and had minimal benefit to the envi- ronment.
