US major ConocoPhillips and Canada’s CNE Oil & Gas, a unit of Canacol Energy will expand their exploration contracts in Colombia to non-traditional oil deposits, the government said. New regulations allow operators that signed traditional exploration contracts before 2012 to include exploitation of non-traditional sources of oil, such as shale.
