Technip launches restructuring

Technip says it “anticipates an even more challenging environment in oil and gas” and has launched a restructuring plan, as well as accelerating its cost reduction efforts “to reinforce the group through and beyond the downturn” – including the loss of some 6,000 jobs. The new strategy has a total targeted savings of around US $912.2m (?830m), of which $769.4m (?700m) will be delivered in 2016 and the balance in 2017, Technip said.
