Production facilities on the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan are being started up. Over the course of 2013 and 2014, oil production will be gradually increased to 180,000 b/d in the first stage, and then to 370,000 b/d in the second stage of development. Operator, North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) said: “Due to the size and complexity of the project, the start-up of Kashagan is a long sequence of progressive steps leading to starting production and progressively ramping up to the intended levels.
