France's Total has discovered hydrocarbons with the Julong East deepwater exploration well in Block CA-01 offshore Brunei. The Julong East well is drilling ahead and has already encountered petroleum, said Australian partner BHP Billiton, although the company gave no further details. Julong East is the second of a six exploration wells planned on Block CA-01. The first well, Julong Centre, was a duster.
