Australia's Cooper Energy has been awarded rights to operate and develop the Sukananti, Tangai and Bunian oil fields (Sukananti KSO) in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The work commitments include the acquisition of 24sq km of 3D seismic, drilling a new development and three workover wells, as well as infrastructure upgrades. The three oil fields have produced 1.08m bbl of oil to date. Cooper plans to recover an additional 10m bbl of P50 oil reserves in the three fields, which lie on trend with the Limau and Tanjung oil fields. Cooper has a 90% stake in the Sukananti KSO, while Mega Adhyaksa Pratama has the remaining 10%.
