Lundin starts Malaysia campaign

Sweden's Lundin Petroleum has started its Malaysian drilling campaign with the spudding of the Tarap-1 exploration well in Block SB 303 offshore Sabah, East Malaysia. The well is targeting Miocene sandstones in the Kindu sub Basin. Tarap-1 will be drilled using the Offshore Courageous rig at a water depth of around 230ft (70m). It will be a deviated well, directionally drilled to intersect a series of stacked seismic anomalies, with a planned total depth of 7,021ft (2,140m).
