Premier pumps up volumes

Premier Oil upped output by 21% in 2009 to 44,200 boe/d from 36,500 boe/d in 2008, boosted by its acquisition of Oilexco. The company, which made a record profit after tax of US $113m in 2009, compared to $98.3m in 2008, said final development sanction for North Sumatra Block A and its UK North Sea Huntington projects are expected during 2010, with first oil and gas in 2012 or earlier. Work on the pre-development portfolio is focused on Bream, Bugle and Froy, all of which are targeting first oil in 2013. Premier is also planning some 12 exploration and appraisal wells in 2010 focused on the North Sea and South East Asia.
