New Zealand on Monday launched its annual upstream round at a time when global E&P activity is being scaled back and the country, which produces less than 50,000 b/d of oil, is struggling to attract investors. The country's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment is offering more than 500,000 sq km of acreage in its 2016 bidding round, in four offshore areas and one onshore.
