With two cheaper offers in hand, Pakistani Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has asked Qatar to lower the oil-indexation in its 15-year LNG supply deal with Pakistan that was initially worth $16 billion, according to Pakistani media. Despite reaching a final agreement with the Qataris in November, Pakistan's Economic Coordination Committee has now declined to accept Qatar's LNG offer price after Pakistan State Oil managed to secure lower rates from trading house Gunvor and Royal Dutch Shell (IOD Nov.10'15). The offers came in two tenders for 60 cargoes each over five years (IOD Dec.17'15).
