Aker BP Launches Field off Norway

Aker BP has started production from Viper- Kobra -- a subsea tieback to its Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading vessel off Norway, the company announced Thursday. Viper-Kobra was developed on time and on budget at a cost of 1.8 billion Norwegian kroner ($217 million) and is expected to produce oil and gas at an average rate of 15,000 boe/d.
