Opec member Kuwait plans to follow neighboring Saudi Arabia's example of privatizing portions of its oil sector in order to mitigate the economic impact of low crude prices, according to a senior Kuwaiti finance ministry official. Khalifa Hamada, Kuwait's finance ministry undersecretary, said a portion of state - owned Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) would be offered to the public, but gave no time frame for the plan, the Kuwait Times reported Tuesday.
