Winter has come to the Asia-Pacific jet fuel market -- and yet in many ways it really hasn't. The freezing temperatures typically boost heating demand for kerosene in Japan and tighten jet supply in the Asian market. Northeast Asian jet prices have begun to receive some support from Japanese demand this year, but some market sources are puzzled given that Japan's weather has been unusually mild, with temperatures largely expected to be warmer than usual through late December.
